Candidates will partake in theoretical and practical assessments to develop their knowledge and skills in order to use industrial counterbalance lift trucks safely and effectively.
To be able to demonstrate:
- Safe and efficient operation of a counterbalance lift truck within the workplace, including their duties under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the risks associated with truck use.
- Pre-Use inspection, appropriate maintenance tasks and reporting processes.
- Authorisation to operate arrangements.
Refresher: For operators who have had previous accredited training on the equipment and need to renew their certificate or they are converting from one machine to another. (1 Day)
Conversion: Our Conversion Course is for current certified fork truck operators wishing to convert their Fork Lift Truck driving qualification and skills to include a use of Counterbalance. (1 Day)
Experienced: Our Experienced course is for existing operators with some previous experience of using a Counterbalance truck but have not had the benefit of adequate, formal Forklift Training in basic operating skills. (1 Day)
Novice: For operators who have had no accredited Counterbalance training previously.
On achieving a pass in both the practical and the theoretical associated knowledge elements of the examination, candidates will be awarded with the lift truck operator’s “Basic Operating Skills Test” Certificate to RTITB standards.
